1 - Reflection on Previous I Search Experiences (due Mon. April 7)

1. What are some of the previous research projects you have done?--- I've done research projects on a church in France, St. Catherine, labyrinths, a volcano, the White House, Sen. McCain, and W.C. Handy.

2. Based on these projects, what does research mean to you?--- To me, research means that you are given a topic that you may or may not know much about, and you look up information from reliable sources about the topic.

3. Describe one of your research successes or failures. Why was the experience positive or negative?--- A positive research success was when I researched the White House. It went really well because I knew what I needed to know and organised my information well.

2 - Reflection on Webbing Process (due Tuesday, April 8)
1. I think the webbing process helped me find a topic because: I think it helped me because I was able to think of some possible topics, and then from seeing the possible topics, I was able to choose just one topic to do.

3 - Why I Chose This Topic and What I Know About My Topic (due Tuesday, April 8)
1. Topic: The Trojan War
2. Why you chose it: I chose it because we studied it in english class, but just briefly and I want to know more detail about it.

who supposably fought in it and about the army sneaking into Troy through the wooden horse.

  • When was the war fought?

5 - Reflections on Pre-Notetaking - for homework (due Wednesday, April 9)
1. Describe how the pre-notetaking sheet helped you find both focus for your topic and research questions to investigate. Did you find it easy or difficult to create a fat question from your ideas?

I was able to ask myself a few questions, which led to finding a good fat question. Once I had my fat question, I was able to think of skinny questionsto go along with the fat question.
